Tuning Fork Density Meter

Published On: January 16th, 2024

The tuning fork density meter is an in-line density and concentration measurement instrument that provides integrated “plug and play, maintenance-free” density and concentration measurement. It is mainly used for industrial process automation control, and can be widely used in industrial sites such as on-site pipelines, open or closed storage tanks. It can be used in product process control with density as the basic parameter, or in quality control with solid percentage or concentration percentage as the reference.
How the tuning fork density meter works
YUNYI tuning fork series online density and concentration meter, is the use of acoustic frequency signal source to stimulate the metal tuning fork, and the tuning fork in the center frequency of free vibration, this frequency and the density of the contact liquid has a correlation correlation, so through the frequency analysis can measure the density of the liquid, and then the temperature compensation can eliminate the temperature drift of the system; The concentration can be calculated at 20℃ according to the relationship between the corresponding liquid density and concentration.
Tuning fork density meter application industry
Petrochemical industry: diesel, gasoline, ethylene, etc
Chemical industry: sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, chloroacetic acid, ammonia, methanol, ethanol, salt water, sodium hydroxide, freezing liquid, sodium carbonate, glycerin, hydrogen peroxide, etc
Pharmaceutical industry: pharmaceutical liquid, biological liquid, alcohol extraction, acetone, alcohol recovery and other food and beverage industry: sugar water, juice, brewing, cream, etc
Battery, electrolyte industry: sulfuric acid, lithium hydroxide, etc
Environmental protection industry: desulfurization (lime slurry, gypsum slurry), denitrification (ammonia, urea), wastewater treatment (mvr acid, alkali, salt recovery), etc

Tuning fork density meter typical industry
Petroleum and petrochemical industry – Interface inspection – multi-product pipeline
Chemical industry – Production of acid, alkali and salt – Quality control
Winemaking – Quality Control – Continuous online inspection
Organic and inorganic chemical materials – Leak detection – underground storage tanks using salt water
Pharmaceutical industry – Chinese medicine concentration, alcohol recovery
Battery industry – Lithium hydroxide, electrolyte, sulfuric acid solution concentration

Tuning fork density meter use advantages
Fully integrated “plug and play, maintenance-free” measurement
The explosion-proof certified quantity can be used for monitoring and control
Continuous measurement
No moving parts, low maintenance
The long rod type is suitable for use in open and sealed cans
The length of the long pole can be up to 2 meters
Available including 316L, Ha C, zirconium and other materials
A small amount of solids and bubbles are allowed
Density, standard density or special calculated values (solid percentage, concentration, specific gravity, etc.), 4-20mA output.
Not easily affected by temperature and pressure
The in-line densitometer is suitable for operation under high pipe pressure
Temperature sensor available
Tuning fork density meter precautions
Due to the needs of the technological process, the tuning fork density meter is often installed in the site with harsh working conditions. In order to minimize the severity of the working conditions of the density sensor, pay attention to the following matters:
★ The tuning fork density meter should be installed in a place where the temperature gradient and temperature change are small and there is no impact and vibration.
★ The measured medium is not allowed to freeze, otherwise the sensing element will be damaged, resulting in damage to the tuning fork density meter.
★ Prevent contact with corrosive or overheated medium under test.
★ To prevent sediment in the tank.
★ Should be handled gently to prevent damage to the tuning fork density meter.
★ Do not drop the instrument directly.
★ It is forbidden to work above the rated pressure of the instrument.
★ Prohibit pressure test exceeding the specified test pressure.
★ Notice that the instrument is suitable for all explosion-proof occasions.
★ Do not weld pipes when the tuning fork density meter is installed.
